Mountain ‘n’ Sea stems from an ancient book in the pre-Qin period, Classic of Mountains and Seas (山海经）. The ancients said that it is in the magnificent, rugged, and absurd natural places we find our extraordinary ethos. We can benefit from observing heaven and earth, mountains and rivers, vegetation, insects, fish, birds, and beasts if we explored and thought deeply and widely, no matter whether we take the gear to see the mountains and sea or roam around with appreciation of beauty in nature.

Moving forward from outdoor equipment’s traditional focus on the rough and sturdy function， Mountain ‘n’ Sea proposes a much more expansive field of collections in which outdoor and non-outdoor people can operate. Select archival outdoor gears & objects are interwoven through the collections to form aesthetic narratives.
